Nestled along the banks of the Kwando River, in Namibia’s Zambezi region (formerly Caprivi), our lodge offers an unforgettable escape into nature.
As you arrive, you’ll park your vehicle in the private lot reserved for guests and be greeted by the beauty of nature—majestic jacaranda trees and fragrant frangipanis, whose blossoms release intoxicating scents during bloom season.
Riverside Views
Upon check-in at the main lodge building, you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing complimentary drink as you receive the keys to your accommodation, whether it’s a “tented chalet” or a “Tree House” depending on your reservation. If needed, you can charge your phone or camera at reception (or in your room). Across from reception, explore our charming curio shop, offering unique local souvenirs and keepsakes.
Just past the reception, you’ll find the bar and dining area, leading to a spacious wooden (“deck”) overlooking the river. From here, enjoy panoramic views of the opposite shore (Botswana) and the surrounding wilderness, home to hippos, crocodiles, birds, and antelope.
In the evening, guests gather around the inviting club chairs at the bar or the cozy outdoor seats around the firepit, a large steel bowl with a crackling fire. This central meeting point is perfect for engaging conversations, or for quiet reflection as you watch the flames dance or gaze at the countless stars in the southern hemisphere sky.
Our lodge runs almost entirely on solar power, so we kindly ask guests not to use hairdryers. For now, we do not offer Wi-Fi, though the mobile network is reliable. Perhaps this is the perfect opportunity to “disconnect” during your stay and fully immerse yourself in the lodge’s unique atmosphere.
Activities & Adventures
The lodge offers a range of exciting activities, including "game drives" through nearby national parks, "boat drive", and "sunset cruise" on the river. You can even visit the local village for a taste of traditional life. During the summer, the lodge’s pool is a favorite spot to cool off.
Welcome to the Lodge
Our restaurant has earned a stellar reputation in the region. The breakfast buffet and à la carte dishes are generous, while lunch features a delightful seasonal menu. In the evening, savor a delicious "three-course dinner". Upon request, we can prepare vegetarian or customized dishes to suit your dietary needs.
Much of the fruit and vegetables served at the restaurant come from our own organic garden. A tour of the garden will show you how everything is grown ecologically, without chemicals. Compost is the only fertilizer we use.
In your accommodation, we’ve thought of everything to ensure your stay is perfect: In the bathroom, you’ll find biodegradable soap and fresh towels. Your room features crisp linens, a large mosquito net (which we highly recommend using at night), and mosquito repellent spray, should you need it. We also offer a laundry service, available upon request.
